Bröderna Axelssons Fisk
Wasastan

This is a good place for fish in Wasastan. These guys really seem conscientious and try hard to have good fresh fish and shellfish. It unfortunately doesn't have the greatest assortment but everything they do have is great quality.

Chez Albert
The best "food emporium" in the city if you need beans, polenta, hearts of palm, no matter how unusual begin here, it's hiding on a shelf someplace. I love this store. predominately French.

Roslagsgatan 33
Stockholm

Tel: 08-612 99 95

Cordon Bleu
This is a good shop for all the basics at a fair price. Great baking tins, pots and pans all with a broad range of price. You don't always have to buy the most expensive thing here to get good quality.

Not so many machines here but everything else you can imagine from stoves to porcelain. A real kitchen supply emporium.

Stockholm's most well known fish purveyor. Although they have a hundred different things that they sell I am mostly drawn there by the large assortment of fresh fish year round. Usually the largest selection in Sweden on any given day.

Lagamati

Odengatan 68
113 22 Stockholm
Tel:08-313820
Fax:08-344130
e-mail: info@lagamati.se
web: www.lagamati.se

I find Lagamati expensive and they don't seem to have a great baking section. What they do have is a terrific knife selection and a great display to choose from. They seem too specialized in deluxe kitchen gadgets and machines. But if it's gadgets you like you will love this place.

Lakeland Home of Creative Kitchenware (England)

This is an internet shop where you can buy Nielson-Massey Vanillas. They offer it in small bottles (118ml.) at a good price but the postage is a bit steep at 130 kronor, so order 2 or 3 bottles at a time.

You can also search the net yourself but I know it is available here.

Also see Nielson-Massey Vanillas for some great and useful information about vanilla and its history at the Nielson-Massey web site..

Willy Ohlsson Eftr AB
This provider of meats is one of the only suppliers of high quality aged (hung for 2 weeks), beef I have found in Stockholm. Very expensive, but definitely worth it in a world of vacuum packed meats that look and taste pale and insipid.

Saluhallen - Kungstorget
