The Basic Kitchen
 

This list is contains the very basics for a decently equipped kitchen. Not everything here is an essential but in time and as you get more expert in the kitchen you will most likely need most of this.

     

Pots and Pans

 

Measuring Utensils

1 - 1 liter sauce pan with lids   1 set of measuring spoons
1 - 2 liter sauce pan with lid   1 set of measuring cups
1 - 4 liter sauce pan with lid   1 large measuring cup at least 1 liter
1 - 6 liter sauce pan with lid    
1 - 9 liter pasta/stock pot  

Essential Utensils

2 saute/frying pans, one large one small with lids   2 large metal spoons
1 large heavy iron pan for pancakes   1 large sauce ladle
1 heavy roasting pan   1 large metal fork
2 spring form pie tins   2 wire whisks / one large one small
2 cookie sheets   2 large wooden spoons
one set of mixing bowls   1 slotted spoon
    2 rubber spatulas /rubber scrappers
Knives   1 Pancake turner

1 small paring knife

  2 strainers, one large one small
1 large chefs knife   1 pasta strainer, plastic or metal

1 serrated bread knife

  1 steamer fan to fit 6 liter pot
Knife sharpener   Salt and pepper shakers
    Pepper grinder

Machinery

  1 funnel
Coffee Maker   Kitchen scissors
Tea Kettle or electric water boiler   Potato Masher
Hand held mixer   2 Pastry brushes
1 digital scale, minimum 3 kilos   Vegetable peeler
Toaster   Apple corer
    2 Cutting boards / plastic

Serving Dishes

  Toothpicks
2 large meat serving platter   Bottle opener
2 oven proof 2 liter serving/baking dishes   Cork Screw
1 large casserole dish   Can opener
1 large salad bowl   Nut cracker
    1 multi sided cheese grater

Textiles

  Assorted plastic storage containers
2 Pot holders   Meat thermometer
8 Absorbent cotton or linen kitchen towels   1 rolling pin
