The purpose of cooking lessons are to teach you how to be more creative and confident in the home kitchen environment, and to help you to expand your culinary techniques...

Who could use cooking lessons?

People want or need to cook for a variety of reasons these days. But unfortunately most of us resign ourselves to the fact that besides those 2 or 3 holiday dishes we were fortunate enough to have learned from our mothers or friends, our cooking repertoire is in reality quite limited. Whether to feed ourselves or others, time and a million outside distractions wind up denying us one of life’s greatest pleasures, the pleasure of eating well.

If you’re not very confident in the kitchen, entertaining can be such a chore. What to cook, timing the meal and not always being sure of how to read the recipes. Cooking lessons can help you change all that. Anyone can cook, I promise! All you need is to see what and how things are done.

You could use a few lessons if:

Are you tired of coming home from work needing to find ways of feeding yourself something good quickly? Do you ever enjoy and look forward to it? My friend’s biggest complaint is; that it is just easier and cheaper to pick up something on the way home. It doesn't have to be that way!

Are you are really concerned by all the unhealthy fats, additives and the generally negative side effects of fast food, frozen prepared meals, and poor diet can have on your life. In this ever increasing world of obesity and heart disease aren't you asking for trouble by not taking what you eat more seriously?

If you enjoy food and feel confused by all the culinary jargon and intimidated in gourmet shops.

If you would like to expand your culinary horizons from what you already know.

The dinner table plays a central role in a family's everyday life; it is the place where the family comes together. Adding to your recipe base is a great way of making coming to the dinner table more fun and enjoyable for those you love the most.

If your desire to entertain is dwarfed by your inexperience or lack of practical knowledge a few lessons in cooking and arranging your parties more productively can help you get the winning ticket for entertaining.

Indulge yourself learning a new talent that I know almost everyone has, it doesn't come by itself unfortunately but is well worth the time you take with it.

One of the most exciting and enjoyable indulgences I know is entertaining my friends. Great dinners require a certain amount of confidence and creativity in the kitchen. I live on the fifth floor and I love opening the door to my friends and having them say they could smell dinner when they got in the elevator on the first floor. Before they have even gotten into my flat they are tempted and the evening has begun - wondering what's for dinner. That's Great!

Things you can learn:

Learn proper tool techniques, ingredient preparation, cooking methods, seasoning, garnishing, and presentation with creative flair! The best part is the tasting, and sitting down with new friends at the end of class to enjoy what you have just prepared! Each class can focus on one tempting topic, such as Italian Cuisine, American Favorites, Simple Salads, Soups to Warm the Soul, Tastes of Spring, Summer Barbecuing, or Wood Grilling & Marinades (when possible). Whatever the topic, you can pick and chose from many and many of the skills and techniques are simple enough to incorporate into your family meals and entertaining menu planning, as well as enhancing your culinary repertoire of gourmet dishes.

If you love your food, why not organize an individual or group cookery lesson. Whether you are a novice in the kitchen and want to learn the basics of cooking or you simply wish to polish up your existing cookery skills and try something new, I can help you with a range cookery courses and lessons.
