Herb: Winter savory (Satureja montana) is a perennial flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae, native to warm temperate regions of southern Europe.
Season:
Low bushy plant with narrow long medium green leaves.
Uses in Cooking:  

Cook with green beans it goes well in some egg dishes, vinaigrettes and with fatty fish, roast pork, potatoes, and tomatoes. Summer savory is preferred over winter savory for use in sausages because of it's sweeter, more delicate aroma.
