Aromatic Seed: Mustard Seeds can come from three different plants: black mustard (Brassica nigra), brown Indian mustard (Brassica juncea), and white or yellow mustard (Brassica hirta/Sinapis alba).

Uses in Cooking:  

Popularly used as a pickling spice. Add ground mustard seed to sauces, dips, eggs, cheese dishes, tofu and salad dressings. Yellow mustard seed is milder than brown and is the seed we use for the making of yellow mustard. It is also used a good deal in Indian cooking.
