Elder flowers make good cold summer drinks. The flowers are distilled and the essence is made in to syrups, used in fruit salads as well as summer drinks. It is extremely popular in Sweden, known as "Flädersaft", and every child grows up with it. The flower is also used to make Elder flower wine and brandy. The berries can be used in jam and jellies and made into a syrup to flavor drinks and can be used as a substitute for currants. |
