Aromatic Seeds: Coriander, (Coriandrum sativum) is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. The dry fruits are known as coriander seeds or coriandi seeds.
Season:
Available all year round dried.
Uses in Cooking:  

Used to flavor a variety of foods including baked goods, dairy desserts, puddings, meats, curries, relishes, beverages and candies. The whole seeds are used in sweet pickles, punches and to flavor coffee. It is also used a good deal in Mediterranean and Indian cooking.

Coriander seeds are also used in brewing certain styles of beer, particularly some Belgian wheat beers.

Aromatic seeds are sold dried and whole or finely ground. The ripe berries of coriander (cilantro) plant are almost round with straight and wavy ridges that have the flavor of lemon peel and sage.
