Advieh is an Middle Eastern/Indian/Persian spice mix which can vary widely depending upon its intended use and which cuisine it is used in. It typically contains cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and coriander seed. Another variation I found was black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom and cumin. Both however contained the addition of rose petals. Other spices that can be added or substituted are pepper, cloves or golpar. The recipe I found contains equal amounts of dried rose petals, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom and ground ginger and half the amount of ground cumin or coriander seed. |
