Alcarraza

An alcarraza is a porous earthenware vessel, usually of clay that is hung in a cool and/or drafty place. The liquid saturated the porous material of the alcarraza and evaporates lowering the temperature and cooling its contents.

The name is Spanish and comes from the Arabic al karaz (pitcher).
